That was when the real fun started. We all take turns to play the game and it was getting kinda fun when we learnt the controls. Each fight against an opponent contained three rounds and since Xavier only had 1 control, we had to play with the computer which was kinda funny. We brushed through the first and second rounds with not much difficulty, but the third round started to become a bit hard. We couldn't win this guy called Blanka, who looked like a green skin freak. Then we told each other that we would not go home until we defeated Blanka.
So we tried and tried and after many tries we finally won him. Then there was this bonus round in which we scored pretty well. After the bonus round, our remaining computer opponents became harder and harder. The computer was using characters that were locked and we couldn't select, but Lionel kept asking us why couldn't we use the computer's hero. He didn't know what was the term 'locked'.
This new computer hero was called Garuda. HE was REALLY REALLY HARD TO FIGHT. We fought countless games against him but couldn't even DEFEAT him once. When I say defeat, I mean as in beat him a single time in a game. And each game has a minimum of 2 rounds. If it is a tiebreaker, there will be a third round. We couldn't even make it to a third round. It was crazy. We tried for almost an hour BUT WE COULDN'T WIN HIM. Soon, it got to a point where we were just comparing how long each of us could last against [Garuda]him.
We were getting sick of the game and thought of changing games. Then suddenly Brian popped out and told us he was going home but we told him that he had to try fighting the Garuda. Then when he fought, we were quite amazed as he lasted pretty long against Garuda in the first round. In the second round, he did something unthinkable. He BEAT Garuda by a tough battle, WE WENT CRAZY and kept yelling and screaming like we just saw a country win the World Cup. We kept shouting like he scored a goal or something like mad soccer fans. However in the tiebreaker round he lost. We were kinda sad so he decided to try again.
We thought that his first victory against Garuda was lucky. But then when he used a girl character called Hakuto, he OWNED Garuda in the first game. We went ecstatic and yelled and cheered and forgot we were in a quiet place. Then we realised we had been shouting very loudly. Sadly, he lost the second and third game and overall lost to Garuda again. However, we were already very amazed with his streak. He tried subsequent rounds with different characters to experiment the combos but he always got close and always lost with 2-1 scores.
We pictured it out like a soccer game. Team A is leading team B by 1 goal, then team B scores 2 goals in injury time. Zzz. So, we asked Brian to pick his best character of all his choices to try against Garuda. He always got close but never seemed to win. Then there was one round where he was on par with the opponent's life, at slightly above a quarter. Then suddenly the Garuda sparked a revival and owned Brian and Brian DIDN'T die amazingly. He was hit by an extreme combo and had so little life that it wasn't even viewable on the life bar. However he didn't die and Xavier said he would 'tok' if Brian won. Brian persevered and somehow he won. We were damn amazed. Brian TOOK DOWN the Garuda's life WITHOUT RECEIVING A SINGLE HIT. IT WAS EXTREME GAYNESS.
After around 5 more tries, BRIAN FINALLY WON GARUDA and we yelled until I was so thirsty that I drank finish my whole bottle full of water. So we were so excited that we gave Brian's Hakuto's combo a name. We called it Hakuto laying eggs on Garuda cause there was this position where the character would punch Garuda like she was laying an egg on him[Garuda].
So that ends the amazing Playstation journey. But there was this guy called Sagat after Garuda, but we didn't have time to fight him as we all had to go home. So when me and Lik Zhing were trying to go home, we forgot which bus to take to go home. Luckily, Lionel told us which bus to take and immediately after he told us the 2 buses, which were 80 and 119, the 80 bus just went past us. Dam sia suay.
Then when the 119 bus came next, I suddenly lost my spare change and everyone was diao-ing me on the bus. Lucky, I found it fast and we were off home.
So that ends the story of today's after-school adventure. I realised that games rock 10x more when you are playing with friends. Games rock on!!!
